AYMOD gathered the shoe sector together once again; orders increased by 20%

AYMOD, the largest sector fair held in Turkey and the 3rd largest in Europe, gathered both the national and international footwear sector at CNR Expo Centre. 2010 spring-summer trends were showcased in AYMOD, International Footwear Fashion Fair, organized between December 10 – 13, 2009 for the 42nd time. Moving from the awareness that Russia was not the only market for Turkey, the sector turned towards searching for new markets, which resulted in a more commercially profitable fair. The fair, where there was a 15-20% increase in purchasing orders, hosted 30.490 trade professionals,

AYMOD, the largest shoe sector fair held in Turkey, reflected the latest trends of the sector. Organized at CNR Expo Center, by Pozitif Fuarcilik, one of the Holding companies of CNR Holding, the fair was supported by DTM ( Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade ), TASEV ( Turkish Footwear Industry Sector Research, Development and Education Foundation ), TASD ( Footwear Industrialists Association of Turkey ), TUAF ( Federation of the Turkish Footwear Manufacturers ), IAESO ( İstanbul Chamber of Footwear Tradesmen and Manufacturers ) , KOSGEB ( Republic of Turkey Ministry of Trade and Industry Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization)

Opening of the 42nd AYMOD was done by the Governor of Istanbul Mr Muammer Guler. CNR Holdings’ Chairman of the Board of Directors Ms Ceyda Erem, The president of the Chamber of Industry Mr Tanil Kucuk, The President of TASD Mr Islam Seker and the sector members were all ready during the opening ceremony.

AYMOD was organized at an area of 40.000sqms and hosted 250 exhibitor companies, of which 20 were foreign exhibiting companies.

Some of the well known brands which exhibited in the last edition of AYMOD were Piere Cardin, Sitab, Kiplings, Terteks – Twiggy, Polo Club, Pedro Camino, Elisa – Artbella, Vicco, Emillia, Forelli, Poletto, Suren – Deriva, Komcero, Flogart – Dockers, Ricardo Colli, Cabani, Dexter and Fila.

Intenstive interest from Overseas,
With the support of DTM (Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry for Foreign Trade), buying groups from Poland, Russia, Japan, Greece and Kosova were invited to visit the exhibition. Besides, with the collaboration of TASD (Footwear Industrialists Association of Turkey) and Pozitif Fuarcilik buying groups from Macedonia, Oman, U.A.E, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Israel, Ukraine, Syria and Iran were invited.

43rd edition of AYMOD, International Footwear Fashion Fair, where 2010 Autumn-Winter trends will be displayed, is set to be organized at CNR Expo Center on May 27 – 30, with the support of sector associations.
